Everglades plane crash kills pilot

Rescue crews searched the Everglades by airboat on Saturday after a plane crashed. The plane went down 20 miles south of State Road 80 and 20 miles west of Boynton Beach in the Everglades.

The aircraft was found in the Loxahatchee Wildlife Refuge area.

The wife of the pilot, 75-year-old Paul S. Soule, says he was the owner of the plane and was the sole occupant.

Soule served in the United States Airforce for nearly 30 years.

The NTSB will be resuming their investigation this morning.

The Orlando Sentinel reported that in March of 2013 Soule experienced plane trouble and had to make an emergency landing, where he walked away unharmed.
