Airboat rescue of two kayakers from Shem Creek

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) — On Thursday afternoon, The Charleston County Rescue Squad responded to two stranded kayakers on Shem Creek in Mount Pleasant.

Brian Hinton, Chief of Department, said that two people on a kayak were stranded in the marsh when the tide went out.

They had to use their airboat to retrieve the two people and bring them back to shore.

There were no injuries from the rescue.
