The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Oak Island Fire Department and Oak Island Water Rescue after two women were stuck in mud and oyster beds while kayaking Wednesday.

The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Oak Island Fire Department and Oak Island Water Rescue after two women were stuck in mud and oyster beds while kayaking Wednesday.

Crews were dispatched to the area near the 6400 block of E. Yacht Drive after receiving a call at approximately noon.

The women were safely returned to shore shortly after 13h00.
